HydraLite Facial in Altrincham

HydraFacial + Lumecca IPL for clearer, brighter and more even-looking skin

When your skin needs more than just a glow, meet HydraLite.

HydraLite at Dermanude Skin Clinic in Altrincham combines the deep cleansing and hydration of a HydraFacial with the targeted skin-brightening power of Lumecca IPL.

Designed for clients concerned with pigmentation, sun damage, redness and uneven skin tone, this advanced combination treatment works on both overall skin quality and specific areas of discolouration within one treatment journey.

Cleanse. Hydrate. Brighten. Clarify. Glow.

What Is HydraLite?

HydraLite is our combination HydraFacial and Lumecca IPL treatment, designed to improve the overall quality and hydration of the skin while targeting visible pigmentation, redness and sun damage.

HydraFacial works at the surface of the skin to deeply cleanse, exfoliate and extract impurities while replenishing the skin with hydration and targeted serums.

Lumecca IPL then uses intense pulsed light technology to target appropriate areas of excess pigment and vascular redness.

Together, the two treatments offer a more complete approach for clients who want their skin to look not only hydrated and glowing, but clearer, brighter and more even in tone.

Why Combine HydraFacial and Lumecca IPL?

Pigmentation and redness are only part of the picture when it comes to how clear and radiant our skin looks.

Skin can also become dehydrated, congested, dull or uneven in texture.

That’s why combining the two technologies works so well.

HydraFacial focuses on:

  • Deep cleansing
  • Gentle exfoliation
  • Extraction of impurities
  • Hydration
  • Skin texture
  • Overall radiance

Lumecca IPL focuses on:

  • Pigmentation
  • Sun damage
  • Age spots
  • Freckles
  • Areas of redness
  • Thread veins and visible vascular concerns
  • Uneven-looking skin tone

By bringing the two together, HydraLite allows us to target skin quality and skin clarity within the same treatment plan.

What Can HydraLite Help With?

HydraLite may be recommended if you’re concerned about a combination of:

  • Sun damage
  • Pigmented spots
  • Age spots
  • Freckles
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Facial redness
  • Thread veins
  • Dull or lacklustre skin
  • Dehydration
  • Congestion
  • Uneven skin texture
  • Skin lacking overall radiance

Your skin will always be assessed beforehand to establish the type of pigmentation or redness you’re experiencing and whether Lumecca IPL is suitable.

What Happens During a HydraLite Treatment?

HydraLite brings together two advanced technologies within one treatment.

HydraFacial

Your HydraFacial treatment deeply cleanses and exfoliates the skin while gently extracting congestion and delivering targeted hydration.

The treatment can be personalised according to your skin, helping to leave it feeling fresh, smooth and deeply hydrated.

Lumecca IPL

The Lumecca element uses targeted pulses of intense light to address appropriate areas of pigmentation and vascular redness.

The light energy is absorbed by the targeted pigment or blood vessels, allowing areas of discolouration to gradually become less visible over the weeks following treatment.

By combining HydraFacial with Lumecca IPL, we’re able to address both overall skin health and specific pigmentation or redness concerns.

HydraLite FAQs

Who Is HydraLite For?

HydraLite may be particularly suited to clients who feel their skin looks:

  • Dull or tired
  • Uneven in tone
  • Sun damaged
  • Pigmented
  • Red or flushed
  • Dehydrated
  • Congested
  • Less clear than it once did

It can be particularly useful when you want more targeted correction than HydraFacial alone but also want the cleansing, hydration and glow that a traditional IPL appointment doesn’t provide.

Is HydraLite Suitable for Melasma?

We do not recommend Lumecca IPL for the treatment of melasma at Dermanude.

Melasma behaves differently from many other forms of pigmentation and can be influenced by factors including hormones, heat and UV exposure.

Because energy-based treatments such as IPL have the potential to aggravate melasma in some individuals, we prefer to recommend treatment options specifically suited to this type of pigmentation.

If you are experiencing melasma, alternatives such as our Cosmelan Depigmentation Programme or a personalised pigmentation treatment plan may be more appropriate.

If you’re unsure what type of pigmentation you have, we recommend starting with a skin consultation.

Do I Need a Consultation Before HydraLite?

Yes.

Because HydraLite includes Lumecca IPL, suitability needs to be established before your first treatment.

New Lumecca clients will require a consultation and patch test before treatment.

This allows us to assess:

  • Your skin type
  • The pigmentation or redness you would like to treat
  • Your medical history
  • Current skincare and medications
  • Recent sun exposure
  • Whether Lumecca IPL is appropriate for your concern

We’ll also discuss preparation, aftercare and the results you can realistically expect.

Is There Downtime After HydraLite?

HydraLite is a non-invasive combination treatment with relatively minimal downtime, although the Lumecca element means your skin may respond differently than it would following a HydraFacial alone.

Your practitioner will explain what you can expect based on the areas being treated and your individual skin.

Following treatment, it is particularly important to follow your recommended aftercare and protect your skin carefully from UV exposure.

When Will I See Results?

One of the benefits of HydraLite is that the two treatment elements work in slightly different ways.

The HydraFacial component can leave skin looking fresh, hydrated and radiant following treatment.

The changes associated with Lumecca IPL develop more progressively as targeted areas of pigmentation and redness respond over the following days and weeks.

This means you can benefit from the immediate fresh-skin appearance of HydraFacial while working towards a clearer and more even-looking complexion over time.

Individual results will vary.

How Many HydraLite Treatments Will I Need?

The number of treatments recommended will depend on your skin and the concerns being targeted.

While HydraLite can be booked as an individual treatment, a course may be recommended when targeting pigmentation, sun damage or vascular concerns more progressively.

We’ll create a treatment plan based on your skin rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.

What's the difference between HydraLite and HydraFacial?

HydraFacial focuses on cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, hydration and improving overall skin quality.

HydraLite combines HydraFacial with Lumecca IPL, adding a targeted light-based treatment for suitable pigmentation, sun damage and vascular redness.

If you’re primarily looking for hydration and a skin refresh, HydraFacial may be enough. If you also want to address visible pigmentation or redness, HydraLite may be more appropriate.

What's the difference between HydraLite and Lumecca IPL?

Lumecca IPL can be booked as a standalone treatment when pigmentation or vascular concerns are the primary focus.

HydraLite combines Lumecca with HydraFacial, allowing us to address hydration, congestion, texture and overall radiance at the same time.

How much does HydraLite cost?

A single HydraLite treatment costs £330 and combines HydraFacial with Lumecca IPL to target hydration, pigmentation, redness, sun damage and uneven skin tone.

For clients looking for more progressive results, a course of 3 HydraLite treatments is £890, saving £100 compared with booking the treatments individually.

Your practitioner can recommend whether a single treatment or course is most appropriate based on your skin concerns and treatment goals.

Can HydraLite help with sun spots?

Lumecca IPL can be used to target appropriate pigmented lesions including areas of sun damage and age spots.

We’ll assess your pigmentation before treatment to make sure IPL is the right approach for your skin.

Can HydraLite help with redness?

Lumecca IPL can also target certain vascular concerns including facial redness and visible thread veins.

Because redness can have several different causes, your skin will be assessed before we recommend treatment.

Is HydraLite suitable for all pigmentation?

No.

There are different types and causes of pigmentation, and they don’t all respond to treatment in the same way.

In particular, Dermanude does not recommend Lumecca IPL for melasma. If you’re unsure what type of pigmentation you have, book a consultation and we can recommend the safest and most appropriate treatment route.

Do I need a patch test for HydraLite?

Yes. New clients undergoing Lumecca IPL treatment require a consultation and patch test before their first treatment.

Should I wear SPF after HydraLite?

Yes. Daily broad-spectrum sun protection is particularly important when treating pigmentation and following IPL treatment.

We’ll talk you through your recommended homecare and aftercare as part of your treatment plan.
